Solo bedtime with 3 kids

They're 6, 4, 4. The twins share a room.

It's always just me doing bedtime.

It's a lot better than it used to be when they were babies/toddlers (😱) but I wonder if I'm missing a trick as it's chaos.

We currently do a loose routine of showers/baths, teeth, story all together, then the twins go to bed by 7.30-8pm and my 6 yo reads to me for 10 minutes. But the twins tend to call for me/wander which disrupts the reading.

They all sleep perfectly once asleep so no issues there. Maybe this is pretty normal and I just need to crack on.

Sounds lovely and like you're doing a great job! We don't do bedtime reading at all in our house. Must just be my kids but they get all excited, climbing about and acting out the story and voices just as I need them to settle down. They're much calmer going straight into bed after a bath so that's what we do.

Sounds great! We do story then middle one goes to bed with a Tonie on (always asleep within minutes) and eldest gets read to or reads on top bunk. Little one is a baby so who knows what she is up to during all this 😄

Audiobook for the twins and non spill water cups to reduce popping up again. We have Yoto players, 10 year old still uses hers.

Ha I'm sensing a theme here... we also have a Yoto player for the 5yo (my others are 3 and 7)

Could you let the older one play quietly in their room for 20mins while the twins fall asleep, then do the reading uninterrupted?

Yeah I could! It's worth a try. It would make it a bit late but it's a good idea.

Sounds like I need to give audiobooks a try, we've never tried.
