8 week old has a cold

DS is 8 weeks old tomorrow and has picked up a cold. I've got calpol plug ins plus a humidifier. Apart from tilting the head of his cot slightly can anyone recommend anything else to help?

He is also due his first round of vaccinations in 2 days - Should I ask to postpone them?

Tilting cot is no longer recommended.

Vaccines are fine as long as he doesn’t have a temperature.

You can buy snot suckers if they are bunged up. They really help.

Saline nose spray (we use the Sterimar one) and one of those squeezey bulb things as babies can't blow their own noses. We use a humidifier if coughing at night but didn't prop the cot up at one end till they were over 6 months. Calpol if they get a fever or seem in pain. Tissues in the nappy bag, car and a box in every room.

The vaccines are fine if baby has no existing fever.

The calpol plug in a incredibly powerful and for 3+ months. Snufflebabe on a muslin hung up on cot.
Our baby had a cold which completely blocked her nose for approximately 3 weeks when she was 6-9/10 weeks. We bought a nasal aspirator that attaches to the vacuum cleaner. I bought a little handheld vacuum for this purpose. Very gentle due to design but I was getting enormous amounts of mucous in about 10 seconds each side. You can but then on Amazon. Life saver!
