Buffet? When to pay for your child?

Just a discussion really as me and DH were in Pizza Hut Buffet today and I asked when you should pay for a child's buffet portion?

At the moment LO has just turned 10 months and I take her own food with us mostly but she did rather enjoy eating pieces of cheesy veg pasta and garlic bread from our plates today! I was beginning to feel as though I should have perhaps paid for her as she was consuming.... although very very little!

What's the general rule/opinion?

I would think each restaurant who have it written down? Or ask the staff at what age does a child buffet start?

*would have it written down on menu etc I meant.

Places normally have an official age or height to pay. I have never paid for a 10 month old anywhere… it’s normally nearer 2 or 3 depending on policy

At Pizza Hut children under two eat free from the buffet I think.

It probably varies from place to place, so best to ask each time.
