Aptamil Pepti 1 - did it help? CMPA

Hi, looking for a light at the end of a tunnel!!

My little boy is 13 weeks, prescribed Nutramigen initally but due to supply issues is now on Aptamil Pepti 1. By no means am i expecting an overnight miracle, but after the 4 week trial are there anyones babies that improved? We're on day 3.

He cries 90% of the time, has loose poos, rash on his body and face. The rash has improved so i think it is working but hes still ALWAYS upset and never content. Its so exhausting.

I see lots of negatives and its hard to find positives so looking for some reassurance to stick with it!

I suspect also silent reflux, how can i help this?

Thank you - one very deflated mummy

Cant comment on the CMPA but my little one has silent reflux. 12 weeks tomorrow. He has gotten much better. For us what seems to help a bit is

Upright feeding - sitting him on my lap

Stopping every 2 ounces to burp

Gripe water - this is a very recent thing but seems to be helping a lot. Brings his wind up after the feed amazingly. He seems to be re swallowing a lot less since using this

Lying him on his side - they tell you not to do this and I'm not saying it's the best thing to do but it helps him so so much. He tends to turn on his back himself or I roll him over after about an hour of being asleep

Also after his feed I lie him on his side on me and stroke his back.

We tried gaviscon- it did nothing but give him constipation.

Hasn't been bad enough for the GP to talk meds so can't comment personal experience on them but that does work really well for some babies.

Hope that advice helps - at least it bumps the post for you and someone is able to advise on the CMPA xx

@Nat888 thank you! Definitely a few things i'll try. Especially Gripe water as he does tend to swallow a lot and i know it must be making gas worse. Really helpful, thanks again😄
