First birthday party

My little girl’s first birthday is coming soon and I’m curious what others have done in terms of who they’ve invited. I want to make it special for her, but fully appreciate she’ll probably want to play with boxes all day! She only has two cousins who are away in Uni/ college, and there are no young children in our extended family at the moment at all. As we’re older parents, all our friends’ children are teenagers and adults. As she isn’t is nursery or school yet, she doesn’t have any friends as such yet. Is it bad that there’ll only be adults there? PS. Adults who love her to bits 😀

Have a day out with her. Zoo, pool something fun. Invite grandparents round for cake. Save the parties till she's 4 or 5.

Just remember that the 1st Birthday party is for you, not her. She doesn't care and won't remember. It's your celebration for getting through the first year! Have whatever celebration you want, a roomful of adults who love her sounds good to me!

She won't remember it or be aware of what is happening. We just had tea and cake with whatever family wanted to come over. You don't need decorations, games or a full on party.
It's for you and your family to celebrate, no need for extra guests. Ignore all the big stuff you see in social media, it's not realistic.

For a party we had family round (grandparents, aunts/uncles, great grandparents, great aunts and uncles, my cousins) which was on a weekend near her birthday. Then on her actual birthday we took her to a local farm for the afternoon.

I know she won't remember but we will!
