Try visiting The Nappy Lady to find an index of different terry folds. The one you need to use will depend on the size, shape and sex of your baby so you may need to try a few until you find the one that suits you best. I have heard people rave about the Jo fold and I used the newborn fold when my LO was tiny.

Hope this helps,

Katherine

I'm glad you started this thread, because I can't find a previous one on this subject. I agree with katbrown, size, shape and sex are all important, as well as output! My DS1 is getting on for 4. and is still in nappies at night. I have always used terry squares. The Nappy Lady site is great for different nappy folds. Try them out, and find which one is best for you. My DS is a very heavy wetter. I've been using the "kite" fold, with another nappy pad folded on top. It's fairly bulky though, and makes walking a bit difficult, but that does'nt matter at nights. Recently, someone suggested the "bat" fold, which I've been trying. It takes a bit of practice to get it right, but I'm getting there. It's neater than the "kite" fold, but still gives plenty of padding between the legs, and at the front, where it's needed most. It's all a question of experimenting with the different folds.

Just checking that they are Joniour Joy terry squares and not prefolds as that wuld make a difference

Curly these are junior joy prefolds i think....they are long and rectangular rather than squares.

Oh, if they're not square, my suggestion will be no good! You can't beat terry "squares" imo.

Right well you can just fold them along the two vertical creases on the nappy to make a thick pad and then they are just held in place with a secure fitting wrap such as a motherease rikki or a bummis wrap
