Teething baby - help needed!

Hi,

My almost 7 month old has been so unsettled with her teeth for about 2 weeks now. Dribbling, chewing her hand and so unsettled during the night waking up every 1/2 hours. Last night was particularly bad and she would only sleep if she was being held by me or my husband so we ended up having to do shifts.

I've tried teething powders, bonjella and now have anbesol. I've been giving her a dose of calpol before bed to try and take the edge of it but obviously don't want to be giving her this every night especially since she's been like this for 2 weeks and it doesn't look like it's ending any time soon 😫 so have been trying to give her a dose every second night or if she's had it two nights in a row for example givi g her a break on the third day.

She doesn't have any teeth yet but I can see two sort of lines on her bottom gums, can't get a proper look and can't feel anything sharp so don't think anything has come through the gums yet but I'm not sure.

Does anyone have any other advice to ease it for her or should I just keep giving calpol until it settles down again even if it lasts a wee while? I just don't want to be giving her it too often incase it causes her any problems etc.

Thanks!

Have you tried baby nurofen? It might help much more than the calpol and hopefully break the unsettled cycle for you.

Nurofen always helped DD more with teething pain as it's an anti inflammatory so I'd give that a go.

Thank you, I got some nurofen today so will give that a try and hopefully it'll take the edge off for her. Hoping the teeth come through soon so it settles down again for a bit 😂
