Anyone have experience with big age gaps? Gap will be 13 years for me

I'm currently 11 weeks pregnant with my second child. I am 41 and have a 12 year old DD. She will be 13 by the time DC2 arrives. I told DD a few days ago that I'm pregnant and she seems to be pleased about it. I am wondering if anyone has had experience with a large age gap between DCs. How was it for you (or how is it going)?

Similar age gap between DD and her siblings. My SC. It's actually really good. No competition around toys and suchlike. Older kids get to be little by proxy and play a bit longer.
Extra pair of hands occasionally.
DD now a teen and siblings in their late 20's and they have their own relationship/friendship and like each others company.

I have a 21 year old DS and a 10 year old DS and a 2 year old DD. So 19 year age gap. I helped deliver a woman who's biggest age gap was 24 years!!

You'll be fine OP lol

Sorry pressed enter before I was finished
21 lives away but my 10 year old is very helpful and loving towards his sister. Can be a bit moody if she touches his power rangers or Lego but not all the time.
He helps change her nappy and make her bedtime milk, shares his breakfast with her. Very protective too

I had that gap with my dbro. I was a very helpful sister, changed nappies, babysat, collected from nursery/school, hung out/played with him and we remain close even at this age some 25 years later! It will be fine OP, good luck 👍

not as a parent, but my sister is that much older than me, and we get on amazingly - never had a single argument!

My son has a big age gap with his kids - his older daughter is 17 and the second daughter is 4 months old. His older one has said that she feels more like an auntie than a sister. There is certainly no sibling rivalry ! Older one has her own life and only sees her little sister after school, weekends etc.
