Hi guys, my husband has vitimin d tablet and I don’t know when he dropped it on the floor I was watching tv and my son was sitting on the floor I looked at him and saw he put something in his month I quickly went to him
ans he spit it out and it was a vitimin d tablet it was any smaller and it was only in his month for a few seconds the size didn’t change at all from the original. Do I need to be worried? I have anxiety so I get extra worried

No, you don’t need to be worried.

Phlewf · 29/08/2022 19:54

My ds has been on a vit D supplement since he was not much bigger. Cocalciferal or something. It’s cumulative, you’d need much more than a lick to worry.

They will be totally fine

The NHS recommends giving children a daily vitamin D supplement, so I wouldn’t worry.

Verbena87 · 29/08/2022 20:03

Little ones should ideally have a daily vitamin d supplement (obviously one for their age, but I bet it’s still a higher dose than 2 seconds licking an adult dose!) so I’m sure you’re fine. Well done spotting it! I dread to think what my kid has eaten when I’ve taken my eyes off him. Caught him nibbling the edge of a beech leaf in the woods the other day and he is nearly 5 ffs. It’s never boring, is it?!

Carrieonmywaywardsun · 29/08/2022 20:05

He probably got more floor dirt in his mouth than Vitamin D.

Have you sought help for your anxiety?

NishaaS123 · 29/08/2022 20:05

@Verbena87
haha I need to start him on his vitamin d supplement aswell. And oh god it never gets boring for sure caught him eating the soil from our plants once aswell 😩😩

He may not need it if formula fed and still on bottles, just to check. I’m sure I’ve read some research suggesting that ingesting small amounts of soil reduces the incidence of childhood asthma 🤷‍♀️👍🏼

Bless you Grin

My DS once ate a random toenail he found on the floor in soft play (saw him chewing it but couldn't lever his mouth open).

Another poster on here wrote about seeing her toddler holding a dried up dog turd and taking bites out of it like it was an apple.

Toddlers' only purpose in life is to give our anxiety a full cardio workout.
