Noise complaint

Hello,

Am I being unreasonable?

We have some kids gathering every night outside our house in a small village and climbing the tree outside my son’s bedroom. They make a lot of noise and sometimes scream and sing loudly.

I have no issue with this what so ever except the time of day this is happening. It’s after 8pm and I can’t get my son to sleep. He has autism and requires melatonin to fall asleep and it’s been a tough week.

talking to the teenagers has made no difference. They are apologetic and polite but they don’t keen the noise down.

I posted a really polite nice message on Facebook asking for parents to maybe speak to their kids about gathering somewhere else in the village, we have a lovely playing field and playground with benches, well away from any houses.

I was told I was being completely unreasonable and kids have every right to play out. I’ve also been attacked for having a winge on Facebook, but I’m at a loss as to what else to do. Talking to the kids hasn’t helped, in fact I think it’s made it worse as I think they are coming back every evening on purpose now. I completely agree - I was just asking for a little bit of help and consideration.

Am I being unreasonable?

Yanbu. Could you water the tree every night when the teens are in it?

Our move your son's bedroom?

I had this, they also climbed the street light pole. We painted a small amount of anti vandal paint on the street light , higher up.
We had the same from the parents, it’s their right etc.
Can you move him to a room at the back ?

Stink bomb at the bottom of the tree? You just need to break the habit til it’s a bit colder. Or. Syrup on the trunk.

Play some classical music or Des O 'Connor type music for a week or so.
The previous owner of a house we bought had a similar issue with local youths - he complained nicely and it made the situation worse- police got involved but really could do nothing. I think the music eventually peed them off.
