Advice on introducing bottle of expressed milk please

My ds is 7mo and I have done all feeds so far as he is ebf. We tried him with a few ounces of expressed milk today and he took it ok. He currently wakes twice for feeds. Would appreciate any advice as to when I should express/how much if I want dh to do one of the feeds. Ds usually wakes around 11 and again around 3. Thank you!

How much can you express ?

@sunflowerandivy good question. I actually don't know yet as we just tried a few ounces to start to see his reaction to a bottle. That was just from one side.

No idea whether I should express in the morning as milk supply higher or before I go to bed. And whether the composition of the milk from the morning would be OK to drink at night in terms of ds going back to sleep.

@Pantheon apparently the evening milk does help baby sleep but this is less important now as your baby will have an established circadian rhythm and be eating food and stuff in the day.
If you're able to express a few Oz from one side then that's a good sign you'll be able to express a whole feed. I'm an expert in expressing because I cannot do it at all! I spent 100s of pounds on pumps and a lactation consultant finally confirmed I'm not able to.
Which bottle are you using (I'm just being nosey)

@sunflowerandivy thank you for your help! Would you say a whole feed is around 5-6oz?

Sorry to hear that! Must be really frustrating. I have a friend in the same boat.

Using tommee tippee bottles. I have a hakaa pump.
