Teething pain worse after teeth have cut through?

Hi FTM here!

my 5 month old baby has recently cut both her bottom teeth, the second being over the weekend just gone amidst a viral infection.

She showed no obvious signs of discomfort for either tooth just wanting to chew everything in sight, however since the second tooth has cut she is showing the more ‘pain’ symptoms of teething such as being fussy, sleeping issues (was sleeping 8-7am but now waking hourly), explosive nappies and nappy rash.

All I can see online is that after the tooth has cut then things settle but she seems to have gone the other way? Has anyone else found this?

I don’t know if more teeth are coming or whether it’s a developmental thing - any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi! My daughter is almost four now but she really really struggled with teething, and I remember that a number of times her symptoms didn't stop even when it had cut through. I wonder if they're still moving or something even when they've cut through!? We found anbesol really helpful, and even had to try nurofen when calpol wasn't cutting it! No pun intended lol x

@newtolineofduty thank you very much for replying! Yes you’re probably right about the movement, she seems to have settled down today so hopefully we have a break before more teeth chaos commences! Thank you for the anbesol recondition too, I’ve just bought some online! X
