Encouraging pooing in the potty

Dd (2.5) is definitely ready for potty training and seems to have cracked it with understanding that you wee in the potty. But - I am dreading her pooing in the pants for the next 6 months like ds did. Can anyone think of anything I can do to encourage her to do a pooh in there too? Or should we just wait? Don't really want to wait too long as dc3 is due in August....

You just gotta follow her around for the day until she is ready to poo and get her on the loo even if she in between going!! does she not have a regular time for going? I know its not an easy task but it does work and also when she does a poo ( if in pants ) bring it to the toilet and show her where it goes!

Funny how they are all so different, all my kids poo before pee when they were training.

I have just began training youngest dd 22 months and I just keep a real close eye on her until I suspect she is goin(half the time I am wrong and she just sits there on the loo looking at me stupid!!)and keep sitting her up until I eventually catch it. Its working she has pooh past 3 days on the toilet!!
So persevere if she just does it a couple of times she will understand.

Good luck, its such a hard task! But will be worth all the effort!
