12 month old whinging ALL OF THE TIME

Anyone else going through this? DD is 12.5 months and an absolute misery most of the time. DS wasn’t like this at this age, he’d lightened up a lot and was great fun but everyone comments on how “serious” DD is.
She despises being strapped in anywhere; car seat, highchair, pushchair which means she spends a large proportion of the day whinging at me.
Over the last few weeks she’s learnt to walk confidently so obviously wants to do it constantly. For the last year I’ve found myself making excuses for her saying “she’ll be happier when she can roll over/crawl/stand up/walk” 😩 She isn’t teething, poorly, sleeps well.

When will this end? I remember DS got whingey at 18 months as he was dead set on what he wanted but couldn’t communicate and if this phase goes on as long as that I’ll lose my mind.

Bump
Anyone else? She has NOT stopped crying since she’s been up this morning. Genuinely don’t know how to cheer her up. If I’d had her before my DS I absolutely wouldn’t have had a second.

Yes. We had a nightmare child. Cried probably about 98% of the time she was awake- we learned to just laugh about it in the end. DD is 6 now and can still whinge for Britain!
My friend had one angel child and one devil child, says if she had the second baby first she would have stopped at one!

@Suzi888 DS who is now 3 was a very difficult and unsettled baby until around 6 months and with each month that passed he became happier and happier. By 12 months I adored time with him but DD just seems miserable constantly no matter what I do. The guilt that DS has to listen to it all day and doesn’t get as much play with me as I’m always trying to pacify DD is killing me too.
