Nap time

Hi, where does your DC go for nap time? I'm trying to get my 4 month old DS into some sort of routine, he will fall asleep on his play mat or in his sleepy head down the stairs but I've heard that DC should nap in the same place as they sleep at night so I've been lifting him up to his crib, alot of the time when I put him into the crib he's wide awake again. Is this true? Or can he just nap where he pleases

At 4mo he's starting to develop sleep associations, so ideally in his cot.

(I wouldn't be too strict about it yet tbh. Try and get him in the cot before he falls asleep, but if he does drift off on the mat just let him have the nap there). You may find over the next few weeks he won't drift off so easily

If your little one settles anywhere at the moment just continue. If you start putting them into to bed for every nap and that's the only place you can settle you'll restrict yourself to where to can go.
My child would settle no bother in the pram which I'm glad about. During the day if we were in the house she would nap downstairs.
My friend is really restricted of what time she can meet up as her child likes to be in a darkened room for his naps (either meet up at 10am or 3pm) safe to say we don't meet up that much due to this.

Mine naps on me or In her pram and sleeps in her crib in our room at night.

Try not to read / worry and just enjoy your baby. You don't need to stress about where they nap, as long as it's somewhere safe.

Thanks for the replies! I'll just let him chill where he's comfortable. Being a first time mum, I think I'm getting myself way too invested in nap time etc but you read so many things and so many mums just seem to have everything down to a T, it's like no pressure or anything lol

At 4m both of my DDs slept every single nap in the sling and every single night in the cot. No issues! By around 6 or 7 months they were both napping in the cot more often than not.
