Do you ever let your dd/ds get away without a bath?

DD1 is quite poorly tonight but I hate the thought of all that school/playground/everthing else dirt going to bed with her.

sod the bath, let her go to bed!

Put her in bed and just wipe the really horrid bits with a warm flannel.

Not having a bath won't kill her.

turquoise · 26/11/2004 19:18

I often let mine go 2 or 3 days without
Terrible mother alert.

YES! By the time Friday rolls around, dd is lucky to get her teeth brushed after her bedtime milk!

she has actually fallen asleep on sofa watching tv, the shame the shame, fully dressed. Must pop her into bed before dh comes home!

ScummyMummy · 26/11/2004 19:19

Mine have a bath once a year or so and are fine.

MummyToSteven · 26/11/2004 19:19

a good compromise from blu - a sort of top and tail

you can always change the sheets soon if you are bothered by her being grimy in bed.

Bigfatmomma · 26/11/2004 19:21

DS hasn't had one for 3 nights - has fallen asleep on the way home from nursery the last 2 and I was out the other night, so DH was in charge and never baths him - must be a boy thing!!

Poor child probably stinks. Oh well!

Love you lot. She usually enjoys it so I've run it and you've made me feel great about not pressurising it if it's not wanted. Thanks XXXXX Carla

Yes definately, grandson often misses his bath's - sometimes goes three or four nights without one - depends on what he's been doing, or where we've been.

Pagan · 27/11/2004 05:20

Absolutely. Just wash hands and face. When I was growing up bath time was on a Friday in the big kitchen sink, never did me any harm, or my siblings.

WideWebWitch · 27/11/2004 08:36

Agree, let her go to bed. My ds has a bath about every 2/3 days, sometimes more often but certainly wouldn't make him if he was ill.

WideWebWitch · 27/11/2004 08:37

Sorry, just realised I'm posting way after the event as you asked the question last night. Ignore me!

clairabelle · 27/11/2004 09:54

Yeas not worth if it if they're overtired bit of a flick round with a baby wipe does mine.

blossomhill · 27/11/2004 09:57

I do like bathing mine very night but it plays havoc with there eczema. I tend to bath about 5 nights and then have a couple of nights in the week that I just wash face and hands.
They moan when they can't have a bath and then usually end up hopping in with dh!!!

zephyrcat · 27/11/2004 10:49

mine get a bath every few days when i can get around to it!! I do their hands face and bits everyday though!!!

lima · 27/11/2004 11:33

I have bathed my kids every other day since they came out of nappies.
