Baby unwell and has slept all day

My 14mo is on day 4 of a 7 day course of antibiotics for a perforated ear drum. He was sick a few times last night and has slept all day pretty much. He slept 10-12:30, woke for a bit where he had a big drink and some calpol and has been asleep since 1 o’clock. It’s nearly 4:30 now. I called 111 this morning to ask if we should continue with the antibiotics given he’s been sick. They said a doctor would call back within 2 hours but it’s been 7 hours and I’m still waiting. I’ve called them twice and they just say I’m on a list, I do understand they must be very busy. I’m just a bit concerned that I should be doing more. Should I take him to A&E or just let him kip?

Is he easy to wake up if you try? I would regularly try to wake him see if he will take a feed - the heat isn't helping and can also be making him sleepy. If he wakes easily and takes a feed, and temp isn't high I would just keep a very careful eye on him.

If he is hard to wake and won't take a feed/drink easily I would go to A and E especially if his temp is high.

It's shit right now-last week my baby was extremely wheezy and 111 said they would send an ambulance within SIX hrs. Luckily he recovered very quickly so wasn't needed but yeah... waiting times for anything NHS are scary high

If you are worried though take him straight away. Never ignore your mamma instincts.
