My baby is almost 10 months old , and altho the shedding is almost back to normal ,or maybe a new normal my temples are still so thin 💔 , I lost all my temple hair basically and altho there is alot of regrowth its thinner and finer , Im that upset about it I paid to see the best dermatologist here yesterday at a hefty price tag and he said there is no scarring , the follicles look good, the density overall is great ( I have alot.of hair) but yes the temples are much thinner , he said that there is regrowth he can see shorter hairs coming through but it could also be very early female pattern baldness 🙈 altho my hair on my crown is full it can start at the temples , but could also be chronic telogen effluvium ,I'm devestated, noone on either said of my family has any hair problems , my mum in her 50s has a crazy amount of hair as I do her mum kept a good amount of hair even through the stress of cancer and radiotherapy, none of my cousin's on either side have issues and I don't get it I'm only 31 🙈 , what are people's thoughts, chronic telogen effluvium or female pattern hairloss , he said only time will tell but I can't bare worrying about it for years to come 🙈

I lost most of my waist length hair ten years ago due to anorexia nervosa and had to wear a wig found it extremely tramatic tbh and have grew.it back down past my waist , I spend so much on my hair the best hair products, i use heat once a month ect I can't bare the thought of losing it again
Is ten months postpartum too soon to tell or should all my hair be back by now 💔

I think it's too early to tell. Are you taking any vitamins?
If it's your scalp that you're self conscious about there's some really great spray you can use to fill in the gaps, it gives the illusion of a full head of hair and it's definitely better for you than hair extensions.

Is this baby number 1? The hair loss and regrowth can be quite shocking if you've not had DCs before. My DD is still young and I've definitely shed a whole head worth of hair (my poor shower drain!!) and the regrowth is awful. It's really noticeable around my hair line and my parting but obviously that's because I can see it actually sticking up off my head defying gravity and any products I use to try and tame it 🤣 give it time and it does go back to normal but growing hair does take years so it's not an instant thing.

Should have mentioned DD is not my first baby so I was very prepared for it this time round but with my first I was not impressed 🤣🤣

Hi OP

My baby is 11 months and my hair definitely hasn’t all grown back yet, and is very short/thin at the temples. I lost a truly insane amount of hair when he was I would say between 4-6 months old. Literal rabbit sized clumps coming out in the shower. I started taking a post natal vitamin and I do think it has really helped a LOT, so I recommend that. I definitely wouldn’t jump to any long term conclusions just yet!!

Its not my first baby , I didn't really get hair loss with my son x

I understand mines fell in clumps too I also developed covid a week after the shedding started so I really think that made it worse , my head's been burning and is red every since I really thought I was gunna bald ( basically again) but derm said it's eczema and the density is still good , I've literally lived in fear for ten years it would happen again and have always stayed unhappy with my weight because I'm too afraid to loose any after eating disorder recovery , I literally gorged my way back up in weight after I lost most of my hair I just wanted it back 💔

And as vain as that sounds reading it back it's true , my hair was what started my recovery , it's just hard because I'm a redhead and was bullied my whole life about it I hated my hair but after it all fell out i learned to love it , to lose it after all that would be just gut wrenching
