is it ok to take a one year old swiming in the sea, in june in spain?

Don't see why not but...they may not like it.

Babies can't focus on the horizon so get really confused by the ocean and hate it (DS was 1 when I took him in the sea in Cyprus - he went beserk!).

For British standards it may even be too hot, keep the beach/swimming out of the midday hours 12-4/5. And don't forget a good sunscreen.

We took our DS in the ocean in Australia when he wasw 6 months old. He loved it! We would have taken him in earlier if we had been in an appropriate climate.

definitely yes.
Sit in the waves and keep close contact at all times though. They roll over so easily. Let him get used to being roughed up a bit and give him lots of cuddles to build up confidence.
Keep his floaties on and NEVER venture in too far for a real swim with him even with calm seas and if he seems to enjoy it. Accidents do happen.

We took DD1 (3) and DD2 (9 months) to Portugal in August last year and they both absolutely adored the sea and the pool. Neither were bothered about how cold it was, they had a ball.

DD1 loved the sea this summer when she was 13 months. Didn't like it if her feet touched the sand at the bottom though
