Floor bed suggestions

Hi,

my 9mo has started to sleep a little easier without me in the evening so we’re considering moving her to her own room (slooooowly).

Currently cosleeping, so thought a floor bed might help ease the transition. But the frames are so ridiculously expensive.

Wondering if anyone has found any reasonably priced ones, or whether anyone just uses a mattress on the floor? If so, what size did you get? (Guessing I’ll be lying in it with her to get her settled to sleep!)

TIA x

You could try just putting slats from a bed on the floor- the idea is the air the mattress. Other things I have seen is buying a cheap bedframe (people often use the £35 ikea one) and chopping the legs off. We have an ikea kura platform bed but set it up so the mattress sits on slats on the floor and there’s a snack frame to stop baby rolling out (she went in at 12 months so was a little older and the sleep guidance is a bit looser)

Just a single has worked for us btw. I often end up spending part of the night (or falling asleep all night!) in there so it needs to be comfy

We just literally took the mattress out of the cot and put it on the floor, works really well although he does push it all over the place in the night sometimes.
I originally did it because I wanted to be able to gradually get him to be able to sleep without me holding him, but it is honestly just best all round for me and him.

Thanks all! I was sure I wouldn’t need one of those fancy expensive ones, thanks for confirming!
