School Socks for a fussy boy!

Can anyone recommend where I should get my son his school socks from?
He's always had a problem with socks. I don't know exactly what his issue is with them, I think it is when the fabric becomes tight or rough when it's been washed....
I'm just not sure where to get him some nice, lightweight grey school socks from!
He likes the primary white stocks, but they don't do grey annoyingly.
He doesn't like M&S or next!
