Treating pants like a nappy

Well today was the day we started potty training and I am soo glad it is bed time.

DS is 2.6 and had been weeing on his potty/toilet when his nappy has been changed for a few months now so I thought it was time to bite the bullet. But no body warned me how frustfrating this is and it is only day one.

Without his pants on he is ok, will hold a wee for about an hour and wee when asked in his potty but with pants on he wees every 10mins or so, even when he has just weed 2mins previously in his potty. its never a full wee but covers his pants. He also doesnt tell me when he has done this so i have to keep on checking they are still dry and ask him if he needs a wee. he just replies 'no thanks, ive just had a wee'. poo's are the same he did 4 in his pants today, and i only realised when i smelt it. will tomorrow be any different??

please help

Jodie

My DS was exactly same, going in potty with naked bum but when i tried underpants on him he'd wee in them. I know you are supposed to not confuse the issue and carry on once you start, but couldn't be bothered spending all day wiping down sofas cleaning carpets and never leaving the house as well as constantly asking him (seemed like mithering) so i put him back in nappies (pull ups) until he started asking all the time under his own volition. Once he'd gone 2 or 3 days without going in the nappy i took him out of them.

Very unstressful way of doing it i found. No day time accidents at all since in pants. I was determined not to push him (had not pushing confirmed on here too.)

Good luck.
