I will be getting in touch with the health visitor over this anyway but I’m wondering if there seems to be any urgency judging by the pic?

I'd get it checked as you said you are anyway. Best to get these things checked.

The mucus can be all fine as the intestines naturally produce it.
The blood could be from the anus? Could have a little tear if they've pushed to hard.

If you notice a lot of mucus accompanied by other symptoms like upset tummy, uncomfortableness from your newborn can all point towards an allergy. Sometimes milk.

How old? And is your baby a girl?
If so it could be newborn vaginal bleeding. All three of my daughters had this.

What is their actual poo like consistancy wise? How old is the baby, are you still able to phone the midwives at hospital to ask them their opinion?
