Is he teething?

we have a very grouchy 15, nearly 16 week old and I think he’s teething. He’s dribbling lots, chomping down really hard on anything that makes his way into his mouth (fingers, muslins, teething toys). He’s super unsettled for no obvious reason but I’m not sure if he’s actually teething or are these always there? Thanks in advance!

Its impossible to know. Feel his gums
every now and again, they’ll get harder and sharper as the teeth get closer to the surface.

My DS used to chew everything and anything and dribble constantly - everyone always said he must be teething. He didn’t get his first tooth until 11 months, by which time he’d finished the chewing phase.

It does looks like it might be, but it's really difficult to tell by sight. Feel with the tip of your finger - it tends to get bumpy and then very hard before the tooth breaks through

My baby was the same, I was sure her teeth were coming...she was 8 months when her first appeared! She seemed to go through spells of teething...then eventually there was no drool, I commented her cheeks looked red (as they had off and on anyway) and a fee days later her first tooth poked through.

You can use teething gel (check the age) and teething powders to help for now.
