How can I send old baby clothes abroad?

Does anyone know where I can take outgrown baby clothes - I'd like them to go to third world countries rather than just to the local charity shop, but don't know of any organisations that send clothes abroad? Thought of Oxfam but our local shop has closed down. Any ideas?

There was someone who made an appeal on here a few years ago for clothes for an orphanage in S Africa....you would have to post the clothes to her though which could be pricy depending on the weight... If you are interested I will see if I still have her email details.

It is cheaper to buy the clothes in the developing country than to pay to post them out so it is best to give them to a local charity. Baby Clothes are not always a great seller in charity shops but all fabric can be sold even as rags to factories so some money can be raised.

Surely giving the clothes to the local charity shop and the charity buying clothes in the developing country is better. It boosts the local economy and the clothes cost less than the postage.
