Nutramigen after 1 week

My 8 week old Daughter has been on Nutramigen for a week now, at first we thought it had changed her for the better, we saw a vast improvement, but over the past couple of days she has been having a hell of a lot of trumps and what look like pains and red dots on her face, she has been struggling with her feeds. I know it can take a couple of weeks for it to settle in her system, but does it sound like we need to change her formula again to an amino acid one like Neocate.

Thanks.

How is your daughter getting on with the formula? I'm going through a similar thing at the moment. Did you stick out the formula or changed?

Ahh good old 'foot milk' as we used to call it - it really does smell like sweaty feet doesn't it?!

Mine was on nutramigen but was still reacting to the very small amount of dairy in it, she ended up moving on to Alfamino which is completely dairy free and she improved so much.

Grew out of her allergy completely at just over a year old too... just for the reassurance, as I know how stressful it all is! There is light at the end of tunnel!

Whilst I'm so sorry your LO has been going through this, I feel so reassured that we're not alone. We also were overjoyed to see all of our LO's allergy symptoms disappear when he started on the Nutramigen at 4 weeks, but over time, he's slowly started to regress. At 8 weeks, he is constantly trumping and sneezing, has dry skin, and suffering absolutely horrific feeds where he'll drink next to nothing and be in some serious inconsolable pain.

We were fobbed off with Gaviscon a few weeks ago which has caused more issues than resolve in that he is now super constipated. We have a review this week where I'll be requesting a switch to an amino acid based formula. Did you manage to switch without issue? Sending well wishes to your LO!

Shes still constantly trumping and sneezing, and suffering absolutely horrific feeds where she'll drink next to nothing and be in some serious inconsolable pain. She's teething now i think so thats another thing to deal with.

She's on SMA Alfamino now for the last 2 weeks, shes still the same, really struggling with her. Seriously don't know whats next, my partner has had a horrid maternity, she was due to go back part time this month but she's close to breaking point, I feel helpless. Instead of seeing little milestones of where you think shes improving we go 10 steps backwards.

Hope your review goes well.
