Hello everyone
I'm starting up a baby group for young mums in September.
I'm really stuck on a name to call the group.

Any suggestions?

Thank you

Does it do anything specific or just a “coffee while the babies play” type thing?

@ReeseWitherfork just to get young mums out and advise them on certain things, get them to merry young mums. I was thinking of doing tea and coffee but we will have to see.

I'd just go with something like "(town name) young mum meet up"

There's a few playgroups near here with fun names and I always struggle to find them on Facebook/Instagram to check if they're on but it's easy to find the one called "(church hall name) playgroup". It's good to specify what sort of group it is, I tried one once thinking it was a baby group and it turned out to be a BF support group but the name didn't imply that at all.

When you say young mums do you mean under 25 or mums if young children?

Goldfishmountainclimber · 31/07/2022 07:36

I would agree that simple might be best. [town name] Playgroup

The mums attending will be tired. No need to overcomplicate!

I much prefer “St Whatever Church Hall Playgroup” type names to the frilly, cutesy ones. My worst offender is Avocuddle. Don’t call it that!

And, yes, young mums or mums of young babies?

BertieBotts · 31/07/2022 07:47

Also if you're planning to do advising, what qualifications do you have?

BeanieTeen · 31/07/2022 10:24

I would also call it’s ‘Town’ baby group if you can. Then come up with a more niche name when you’re more established.
As a pp, I think too cutesy names can actually put some mums off.
