Vicks humidifier

Hello!
has anyone tried the vick’s humidifier, for when a child has a cough?
Wondering if they help.

Hello yes we bought one last year when my 2yo had back to back coughs that seemed to last weeks, it feels like it should help but I don’t know whether it’s coincidence but after having a normal cough for weeks a couple of weeks with the humidifier we were told it was now a chest infection.

We used it recently when he had croup and it seemed to make the cough go on for longer if anything, when I stopped using it his cough got better.

It’s quite a faff to clean too.
