Is there a 6 month sleep regression?

My 6 month old has slept amazingly and the whole night through from less than 2 months old. The past three nights however have been difficult and she's only had 2 hours sleep tonight. When she isn't sleeping, she's crying and she'll only stop if I'm holding her but I'm falling asleep so can't do that anymore Sad
I've given her milk, calpol, teething gel and nothing is working. I'm exhausted. I can't deal with the screaming anymore Sad

Sorry no-one responded to your post a few days ago. How is your LO doing now? My DS is nearly 6 months and I’m pretty sure he’s going through a regression now. He’s so much harder to settle, wakes up several times a night now and only seems to be able to settle on the boob. I’ve even resorted to co-sleeping a few times which I thought I’d never need to do.

How are you getting on?

Same thing happened with mine. It was teeth. There's no formal regression at 6 months but there is a "blip" (so my sleeping guide says) that can feel like a regression.

Hopefully you'll get off easier than us - he ended up getting 8 teeth in 2 months and there was not a lot of sleep going on. We were BFing and the constant supply of milk throughout the night didn't help - in the end I trained him to resettle without a feed and things drastically improved for like a week. Then the 8 month regression hit 🫥

Apologies for resurrecting an old thread but did you see any improvement post the 'regression'?

Sleep has recently gone to sh!t for my 6.5mo. I thought it was bad before but this is baaad. Hourly wakes, fighting all naps, fighting bedtime (then me feeling like a terrible mum).

Hello, my baby is currently going through this. He has always been a good sleeper. He is still fine for his naps and at night will self settle to sleep. But, I’m the night he is waking up every 40 mins crying, sometimes it can be just a dummy he needs but other times I’m having to pick him up. He always will just randomly cry at times and then go back to sleep. This has been happening for a week now. Has anyone had any improvement. I very tired mum here 😩

I'm the poster above you @Fran199 . Baby now 10mo, sleep situation much better.

Bit of a blip towards the end of/after Christmas due to routine disruption but we're no getting more regular naps, easier bedtimes and fewer wakes at night (2-3 wakes between 8pm and 7am, which is good for us).

Biggest difference was accepting that baby was moving from 3 to 2 naps around 7mo. I tried to cling onto the 3rd nap for longer than I probably should, which made the days all wonky because he would often refuse his final nap and end up really tired before bed. At 8mo, with a consistent 2 nap routine, days and nights were a lot better.
