Kendamil.. baby poop help!

I was just wondering if there are any mums out there formula feeding their baby with Kendamil and could share what their baby poop is like? Sorry to be gross, I’m a FTM and just so confused and don’t know if my baby’s poo is normal.

DS is 9 weeks old. Since birth he’s been on Kendamil Organic and often seems quite distressed. We’ve tried infracol and gripe water etc. Whilst his crying does seem to be getting slightly better, he still randomly screeches and cries and look like he’s in pain. His poop has always been very dark green and very watery. No other symptoms to suggest an allergy, baby gaining weight nicely. I reported this to the gp who palmed me off and told me his poo sounds normal as long as there’s no blood or mucus. I also read on a different thread that Kendamil poo is green because there is seaweed in it? But I’m doubting if this is normal as my nieces poo was always yellow and seedy at this age on different brand formula, but DS’ has never been like that.

I’ve just bought the Kendamil anti-colic from their website, to see if that makes any difference, as there is reduced lactose in it.

So basically, Kendamil mums, I am wondering if your babies poo is green and watery? Thank you

Hi @Seabreeze2

My son is also 9 weeks old and has been on Kendamil (not the organic one) since birth but his still has never been green. It’s been yellow mustard color with seeds in since the beginning and the midwife said that’s normal color/look of stool.

My LO is on kendamil he’s 10 months and although he personally has never had green poo I know it’s very common. There’s a kendamil fb group which is really helpful and quite a lot of posts query the green poo

Our LO was on Kendamil from birth to about 6 weeks, she had terrible green poos and constipation. I think it was too Rich for her as it is only milk with full fat cream in it so we changed her off it.

Hi. Glad to have read this.
mMy daughter is short of 12 weeks and has had dark green poos for weeks. The odd time it goes back to mustard colour.

ahe doesn’t have any other symptoms for me to take her off it so I have just kept her on it.

DD is 5 months and been on Kendamil basically forever - mustard colour poo, quite watery, not seedy come to think of it! Green and pain sounds like some sort of intolerance, I would imagine you’d be the same on most non-specialist formulas. Poor sausage!

DD just turned one and was on Kendamil from birth. Her poo was dark green and very loose until we started weaning at 6 months. Absolutely fine and no allergies whatsoever

My baby is on Kendamil and her poo is often green. I was wondering about it a bit, but she seems fine in herself so not too worried.

Albiesmum123 · 21/10/2022 17:25

Hiya, the exact same is happening with my LO, what did you end up doing? Did you change milk or did things get better?
His poos are dark green and the constipation is causing him pain. I’m on the original Kendamil and considering changing.
Thanks in advance

Maybe speak to your health visitor if he’s constipated. My little one wasn’t having any issues with the milk, but because her poo was dark green, I was a little concerned. Nothing is wrong though and I’ve kept her on it. Poos are now a yellow colour again.

Seabreeze2 · 21/10/2022 20:44

Hi, my DS’s stayed dark green. He’s now 21 weeks and they are still the same consistency and colour. I didn’t end up changing his milk, I persevered and he luckily was fine and been fine since. However he didn’t have constipation and he’s on the organic one. He absolutely loves his milk now and enjoys every bottle and doesn’t seem in pain at all. I would speak to your HV if he’s having constipation. Or just go ahead and try the anti-colic and constipation formula, you can order it from Kendamil, it’s fairly new and has excellent reviews. I ordered it and was fully prepared to swap onto it but I held out another few days after this post and he seemed to get better/less pained. Hope this helps.
