Help- Wraps for prefolds???

Please help- can anybody tell me what are the best wraps to use for prefolds? All the ones I have tried result in nappies hanging down! If anyone could recommend a good wrap for a prefold for a WRIGGLY TODDLER IT WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED!! Many thanks xxx

I've given up on wraps over prefolds now my dd is up and running around - I stick them inside pocket nappies: the containment is better and they leak a lot less than prefolds and wraps.

I think Roskva has the right idea tbh. All the wraps I am thinking of (nature babies, motherease etc) are velcro and on a wriggly toddler they will most likely be undone.

What are you using atm?

I stick prefolds into FuzziBunz and haven't had any trouble.

Ok Thanks everyone! seems I'm barking up the wrong tree with the prefolds/wraps then! If noone else has had any success then I don't suspect I will! Looks like I'm gonna have to invest in some real nappies...oh dear, costly!!

Bummis super snap wrap or bummis pull up wraps (no fastening to worry about)

really impressed you got as far as the wriggly toddler stage with prefolds inside a wrap - everyone I know has given up on them at about 8 months

SamandLula · 25/01/2008 14:19

I think that's when I started on them, as they worked out cheaper than the shaped nappies I was using, soo looks like I did it totally the wrong way round! and thanks curly wurly ;)

What you really need to do is buy a Nappi nippa to secure your prefolds. Instructions on www.twinkleontheweb.co.uk/howtonappy.pdf
Then you can just keep the same wraps, as the Nippa will hold the prefold on in place securely without leaks onto the wrap..

mybabywakesupsinging · 26/01/2008 23:09

I also nippa prefolds and that seems to work OK on ds2 9 months but don't know how it would be for a toddler

Astrophe · 26/01/2008 23:16

I used pre-folds in cotton bottoms wraps and got on ok with them - fuzzis were always a disaster for us - always leaked!

Best os all were these (scroll down a bit) with a prefold or the microfibre prefold they sell with them.

Good luck.

fillthatnappylittlekiwi · 27/01/2008 01:25

Nippa prefolds work fine on a 26 month old toddler, mind she will lay still long enough to fold them on her. My 13 month old boy wont

Octothechildherder · 27/01/2008 08:07

Astrophe - I tried them and my ds simply wee'd out the side and they were forever leaking - I do still have some and look at them wearily from time to time! I use fuzzis and they are fab. Otherwise I would go for a motherease rikki over a prefold.
