Best formula for my baby?

Hello everyone,

My baby is 10 weeks old and is both breast and formula fed. I used to give her aptamil organic and my baby likes it however she struggles with wind and pooing sometimes. She is not constipated as her poo is runny but she just cant get it out and cries due to this until it is out. Now I have read online that Aptamil Comfort helped some people. But I am just scared to change formula as I dont want to harm my baby with changing her formulas. Anyone have any experience ?

Comfort formulas etc are all just marketing.

The best formula is the one that is cheapest and easiest for you to get. Formula is so regulated here that it really doesn't matter.

Babies can struggle to poo when little because it takes a while for the muscles to develop. Also gravity is working against them.

We were told by midwife/health visitor to stick with the main ones that had a number 1 and not use the comfort, hungry baby, 6 month plus etc. When DS was born he was tube fed through the nose and the hospital used cow and gate infant number 1 so that's what we stuck with. Figured if neonatal are using it, it must be ok and both my DCs have taken to it well but I know of other babies that haven't so it's a bit trial and error sometimes.

No harm in contacting the health visitor if you are worrying about wind/poop.

Sounds like infant dyschezia which is a normal developmental stage.

Try bicycling babys legs and gently rubbing his tummy. Also you could try offering half an oz of cooled boiled water this helped my baby.
