Toddler stole vape

Toddler, 20 months has just stolen his dad's vape stick and must have been trying to suck on it while I was in the kitchen. He coughed, which is what caught my attention, don't think he inhaled, seems perfectly fine??! What should we do?

Nothing if he seems fine.

Lock up the vape stick so it doesn't happen again.

Nothing. He won’t have been able to inhale and even if he did a tiny puff isn’t likely to cause lasting harm. Just keep the vape out of his way in future. Lesson learned - they’ll put anything in their mouth given half a chance.

Thank you, still seems fine! I don't do have anything to do with it personally, partner feels awful, he had put it on the window sil, but toddler is a climber and must have scaled the radiator to get to it! Time to put up some new shelves !!

My toddler, 20 months, just pulled down the water jug while I was in the bathroom this morning and was slipping around in it. Quite the mess. I get it.

MolliciousIntent · 21/07/2022 19:06

Supervise your toddler better - no way should he have been left alone long enough to climb a radiator up to a windowsill and start sucking on a vape. He's not even 2, if he's loose in the house you should really have eyes on him at all times.

This is probably more concerning. How was he alone long enough to do this?

It will be fine, these things happen, Keep the vape out of sight in future, use it in another room. Toddlers try and copy.

Stole is a weird word to use. Toddlers don't steal, they are curious and pick up things that they can see and reach. Don't leave potentially dangerous things within his sight or reach.

This thread is neatly a year old, and disposable vapes a nightmare environmentally. Nobody should be encouraging anybody to use something containing so much plastic and batteries only once.
