Day 10 post partum and feeling teary - is this normal?

I'm day 10 of post partum and all of a sudden feel very low and teary. I found with DC1 that when my milk came in around day 5 I felt very teary and just accepted it as normal and it passed in a few days. This time with DC2 I've started to feel teary a lot later at day 10 - is this a bit late to feel like this so long after my milk has come in? I've felt on a high up until now even though the birth was slightly tricky/not as planned....

Oh still very normal I think. Your hormones are still all over the place and you had to come down at some time from that high.

It may be that you need more rest - the impossible nirvana of all new mums!

I’m guessing you’re also exhausted too.

Mine came in at day 10 with dc2 and it hit me like a brick wall, lasted about a week and then I evened out again- still with some ups and downs as expected.

Be kind to yourself and rest up if you can.

Congratulations!

Very normal.

Do get yourself checked out if you don't feel better within a couple of weeks though.

Very normal, it really varied with my children ds1 blues were day 3-4, ds2 it was 8-10, dd was 4-6. You’re going through a massive hormone crash, exhausted and recovering from a birth while looking after another child. Be gentle with yourself. And congratulations Flowers

Completely normal. Take care of yourself, hope you have help with the baby.
