Just wondering what time you let your 10 year old play out until over the summer? I have just had some of the kids on our street knocking for my daughter at half 7. She's just had tea and I will want her in the shower shortly to start winding down for bed. She doesn't usually play with the kids who knocked -her usual playmates are either still at school or on their hols but I guess they may be in the same predicament. The girls who knocked were a year or so older than her but the had a few 7/8 year old with them too. Just wondering if I am being weird by saying no ( it wouldn't be the first time 😂)

If it's light and and safe I would add an hour on to whatever you normally do during term time, so if it's 6pm in term time, 7pm in school holidays. It's nice for them to enjoy the warm, light evenings a bit and presumably she can sleep in a little in the morning.
