Hi my baby was a more or less a good eater but since he turned 2 in June he doesn’t want to eat . Now in the hot weather he sort of completely stopped eating solid food . He will eat few pieces of grapes and water . Water or juice . Is it normal ? What food to give 2 year old in hot weather ? Thanks

If it's any consolation my 10 month old hasn't eaten much since it's been hot. Just been offering cooled foods - moist chicken, cucumber, watermelon, yogurt etc. Whatever I can cool in the fridge. Hoping she gets back to full blown eating when it's cooler. Breakfast seems fine but then it's cooler in morning.

Have you tried fruit salad?
chopped up cucumber/carrots with homous

frozen peas

squeezy pouches -cold

smoothies

ice cream

small bowls of bread sticks & dip

snything he usually loves in small portions.

if you're really really worried, follow on milk.

but as long as he's drinking/eating ice lollies, he'll be fine.

weather is cooler from tomorrow so he might feel more like eating.

It's very normal. I think most people's appetite is limited in the heat.

As above I'd try cool, watery stuff like watermelon, oranges, cucumber, tomato. And yoghurt.

Little and often.

Try and get a big breakfast in when it's cooler in the morning. Let him snack more.

My 14 month old is the same if it makes you feel any better, last few weeks his appetite has really decreased then last few days barely existent. He'll eat a decent brekkie, still loves his mid morning and bedtime milk and will have the odd snack but barely touches lunch and dinner. Drinking lots of water though. Won't even entertain ice Lollies or ice creams🙄

I wouldn’t worry as long as he gets plenty of fluids and his eating picks of again once it’s cooler.

Thanks all. He used to eat porridge but now a days he just 2 spoons max . He is just eating crisp , water , juice . Seldom let one or two pieces of grapes , oranges . But mostly water , milk and juice ! I tried cucumber , fruit salad , peanut butter sandwich , chicken curry with rice , pasta everything but it seems as though he is hungry but don’t any to open his mouth when he sees any solid food !
