2 year old in pool

Please tell me how you get your 2 year old to get in the pool? Ds is terrified and will not get in and it's driving me insane because I can't cool him down when he's boiling!

Any tips?

Get in with him. Is it a paddling pool? Just sit in it and play with him over the side for a while, splash his toys in the water. Have some shade over it too, you don't want either of you to be in the sun.

My eldest didn't want to get in at that age, but was quite happy to lean over the side and splash/push the boats/use the watering can/sieve.
Do you have some water toys or can you repurpose a plastic jug/ladle, Tupperware etc?

He's quite happy to go in at now 4 years old.

How deep is the paddling pool? Maybe that is what is scaring him? How is he with baths? Couldjust do a cold bath instead

Have you never taken him swimming?

You stop trying today as you can cool him down with a wet towel wrapped round his shoulders. Stressing him out is pointless.
