Clingy 10 month old

My 10 month old is extremely clingy and cries for me, will not let me put her down.

Her father is doing bedtime as I really need a break but I can just hear her crying and is really depressing.

I know it's developmentally normal but I can't get anything done!

Just leave him to it. It's been a hot day, she's probably tired.

I couldn't she was wailing. She's asleep now attached to my boob. At least she's quiet now.

I can't stand the way she latches on and off and kicks me and tries to twiddle my nipple. I don't want to be constantly touched.

I felt good this afternoon, I thought we survived the day and I got on top of some life admin but it's neverending and then I see the amount of housework and I can't put her down and the walls feel like they're closing in.

Nope! She's awake again and back with her dad.

The rage since having a baby!!! At the patriarchy...the lack of support....my shoddy mothering.

I have a 10 month old too, not breastfed but also extremely clingy at the moment - cries when I leave the room, doesn’t want to be held by anyone else for more than a few mins before wanting to come back to me.

It’s hard work, especially with it being so hot today. No advice I’m afraid just solidarity, we’re all just doing what we can!

Repeat "this too shall pass" whilst rocking in a corner.

Honestly though, it will pass, or change, soon enough. Just keep swimming....and everything will get better once this heat breaks 😂

Thank you for your supportive comments! You are right, fingers crossed it will be soon.

I am in the same boat too with my 10 month old. I wear her on my back when I do some chores like cooking, things that I don't need to bend. I hope this will pass soon for us.

Just offering a bit of solidarity...

My 9.5 month old does exactly the same with the nipple - he wants to be permanently attached except to latch on and off with some pinching, slapping, kicking thrown in.

Sometimes I'm convinced he wants to pull my nipples off.

I love him dearly but the excessive boob clinging is driving me nuts at the moment. I just feel like I need some space.

Especially at the end of the day when I feed him to sleep and he takes forever.

He's only napping during the day at the moment on my lap. You've guessed it...attached to the nipple!
