My five week old baby has the following symptoms:
- never happy when awake and seems in pain, wriggling around and crying, bringing knees to stomach and flapping arms out
- as a result of above, always needs comfort and to be picked up and held
- hates lying on back and has to be on the side
- excessive gas and always struggling to pass poos
- wheezing after a bottle & noisy breathing, sounds like she’s got nasal congestion and coughs during bottle and gets hiccups after bottle and sneezes after every bottle
- during bottle seems in pain- grunts and brings knees to tummy. Is hungry but pushes teat out like it’s sore then wants it back again
- Not sleeping well at night, always thrashing around in sleep and takes so long to settle after a bottle that hardly getting any sleep between them
- did have really dry flaky skin around eyes but now cleared up & got red spots/ rash across cheeks and really red colouring
dr suggested reflux & gave gaviscon but made her constipated then tried omazprole but that’s when the spots on cheeks appeared so suggested to try nutrimigen for potential cmpa.
been on it 3 days & now in addition to above she is screaming through bottles, pushing it away and arching back forcefully. Takes less than she used to and now spews during & after every single bottle where she never really used to be sick
anyone else had a similar experience? No idea what to do next, she just seems unhappy all the time and barely sleeping at night
