How to stop 2 year old sucking fingers

My 2 (and a quarter) year old loves to suck two of his fingers, particularly at night time.
I have noticed that his two front teeth might be becoming affected by this.
I know that you cannot use the thumbsie nor the bitter nail liquid until a child reaches 3 years.
Does anyone know what methods can be used for a child under 3? I've tried to research online but all the advice is for an older child.

Basically nothing unless you want to be cruel. My grandma rubbed chilli flakes on my dad's thumb when he was 18m and that cured him, but it's not really what you'd call kind and caring parenting.

Distract/take them out during the day.

Can try taking them out once he's gone to sleep at bedtime, but obviously may just put them straight back in.

Other than that, just leave him. He needs the comfort more then he needs perfect baby teeth.
