I’m a very anxious mum in need of some reassurance or advice! Today my little girl (6 weeks old) was extremely sleepy, more so than usual. She’s on 4oz feeds every 4 hours but at her 2am feed she wouldnt wake. It took a lot for me to wake her and even then, she fed but was in and out of sleep and then fell asleep straight after which is unusual. She did this at each feed throughout the day. I also had her in and out of the car, out for lunch, changing nappies etc all without much response from her as in opening eyes etc. She would tense up and jerk her body etc when moved but I usually get more from her. However since about 7pm, she has been wide awake and responsive. Should I be worried? I spoke with a midwife friend who said I should ring 111 as it isn't normal but by then, my little one was wide awake and alert.
I’d like to get her checked over just to settle my mind but it’s easier said than done isn’t it! I think the doctor would laugh if I told them I was just overly anxious. She hasn’t got a check with the HV til 28th which is 2 weeks away. I’m just very on edge and most likely will not be sleeping tonight!
