Dark patches on baby’s scalp?

Hi all, I was wondering if anyone could help - attached some pics of my baby boys scalp, where you can see some darker spots - I thought it was cradle cap but I’ve tried to treat it with all sorts and nothing seems to shift them! Any ideas? They’re quite flat to his head, not very cradle cap-esque!

That is cradle cap! Just very thick and stubborn. Have you tried dentinox, soft brushing it in really well and then combing out eith a cradle cap comb?

Have you asked your GP or health visitor? I’d have said cradle cap from the pictures. His hair looks quite greasy too - is that from stuff you’ve put on or is it wet? Or naturally like that? I think cradle cap is often linked with excess grease production but I could be wrong about that…

Sorry I should’ve mentioned his hair was wet as he was in the bath!! Easiest way to get a pic of a very active 1 year old 😂 he normally doesn’t have greasy hair, we don’t actually use shampoo normally because he’s had a bit of mild eczema but have used shampoo more than usual lately to get rid of sun cream residue. But these marks have been there since he was tiny!

We’ve tried dentinox several times, it just doesn’t appear very flaky at all so doesn’t seem to come off?! I don’t want to pick at it myself, I haven’t heard of a cradle cap comb though so I may look into this - I have tried soft brushing dentinox in before though.

This is definitely not a medically advised treatment, but I used a tiny dot of classic head and shoulders, massaged in, left a few minutes then combed out with a nitty gritty comb. My sons cradle cap was quite waxy and not flaky, and this got rid of it in about two goes, a couple of weeks apart.

My baby had bad cradle cap, we used dentinox for a couple of weeks and used a comb in the bath every time as he has really thick hair, just combed it through and after his bath it didn't look nice but you could see it all flaking off every time. It's now gone only took about 2 weeks 🙂
