Parenting Courses?

I'm at the point where I feel I need some outside help with my 3 year old because I'm just not coping with him and feel like I'm doing a really shit job.
I'm thinking about doing a parenting course online or something similar but I don't know which to go for. They're all American and I don't want one that preaches gentle parenting.

I'm not the type of person to sit and devour a book about child development and when I have free time to myself I don't even want to think about parenting! So it needs to be easy and accessible.

Any recommendations?

Triple P or the Incredible Years both offer constructive practical advice. I think they do online courses.

If in UK, google your local authority name + local offer and it should take you to a page that lists various support options - one of which should be parenting courses (or parent support). You’ll get a list there of the ones which are available in your area and how to contact them.

some Local Authority websites are better than others so the above might be trickier to find, but in theory it should be there.

good luck x

Your HV will be able to recommend some good ones locally, have you spoken to them at all?

I’m going to be honest my child has asd but prior to finding this out I went on a parenting course and it was literally just health and safety aspects of parenting. I’m sure the woman had just printed off the health and safety paperwork that comes with the childcare level 3 course because it was the same as what I had filled in, in college. I left in the end and this was run by the local authority. Try and get feedback before attending any
