22-month old - 10ml of Calpol

Please be kind, I feel terrible!

Gave DS two big spoons instead of 2 small spoons just before bed - so 10ml instead of 5ml.

DH has done all the maths (!) and reckons it's really not a big enough amount to worry about.

In our favour, another 6 weeks and he will be allowed 7.5ml as a 2-year old. Still though, he's been given the dosage for a 4 year-old...

Should I be worried? Anybody else done this? Grrrr.

We had a similar mishap and 111 said it wasn’t a dose worth worrying about and just to keep an eye on them. You aren’t the first and won’t be the last.

We are all still alive this morning! Though I've not slept much, as predicted 😴😂

Weighed LO on our own scales and turns out he's only just over 12kg. Who knew! Thought he was waaaay more than that. So the first estimation on this thread wasn't too bad!

Thanks so much again, everyone. Definitely gave me some perspective last night X

Glad to hear you all made it through the night. Hopefully you can squeeze in a snooze this afternoon whilst he naps.

At least he slept well and you didn't end up needlessly spending hours in a hospital waiting room with a progressively more grouchy toddler just to be told everything was fine and to go home and monitor him.

When my 12 year old was a baby the dosage was 10ml from 12 months! It was only changed to the more detailed increments recently.

Yes I saw something about that when I was researching last night. Funny isn't it...

Just dropped him off at nursery and his key worker laughed at the whole story, so that's a good sign! X

@Chichz yup, DD was regularly given 10ml after her first birthday! But second DD wasn't 'allowed' 10ml until she was 6...
