2 month vaccinations

My ds had his vaccinations yesterday and last night had a high temperature after 2 doses of calpol, it came down again after his 3rd dose, but today he's been really sleepy and only had 1 bottle since waking up at 7, he just falls asleep if we try to feed him more.
Is this all normal? So hard when they can't tell you how they feel 😥

Is he still producing wet nappies? It can be normal but a bit more worrying with the hot weather. Can you phone your GP? What is his temp now?

My girl had a reaction to her first vaccinations and that resulted in a temperature that wouldn’t come down and her being very agitated. She didn’t read as having a temperature at home or at the GPs but she did at the hospital - was weird.

If he’s not feeding then he’ll be getting dehydrated, especially with the warm weather so I would check in the with GP and if you’re not happy after that then get him checked at the hospital. You will never be turned away with a tiny baby.

In a nutshell - if you’re not happy with him then contact a professional, trust your instincts.

Thank you for your replies.
He's still having wet nappies, and my dh just got home from work and ds perked up a bit and took half a bottle, so hoping he was just drowsy from not getting as good a sleep last night with his high temperature.
We have the fan on all day and sit him near that to keep him cool, I'll definitely get in touch with gp if he gets worse but hoping he's over the worst now.

@Jendrw5 just came on here looking for this exact thread. My DC had jabs today and now refusing to eat too. How is your DS? I can't give calpol for another hour 😩😩😩

Jendrw5 · 15/07/2022 08:08

@SEE123 my ds is fine now. Took him about 24 hours before he was completely back to normal feeding wise, but he did have some milk in the time after his jabs, just less than he normally has.
Hope your dc is feeding now, like the others have said, trust your instincts if not and contact gp.
It's horrible seeing them like this, getting the jabs is bad enough without the side effects afterwards. Hopefully the 12 and 16 week ones won't be as bad.

My son had his 2 month vaccination on Wednesday (6th oct) and even today he’s so tired, irritable and loss of appetite. He was on 5-6oz and now I’m having to give him 3oz 2 hours apart and even that’s a struggle. He doesn’t have long wake windows and when he is awake he is crying and fussing a lot. I’ve had him at docs and they’ve checked him over and found nothing. Has anyone else experienced this, getting on for 4 days now.
