How to keep a 6 month old entertained

My daughter is having one of those days. If I'm not actively in front of her, making noises and faces and playing with her, then she's screaming. She's fed, changed, napped and not teething. It's nice and cool in here and she's suitably dressed. She's in her playpen with all her favourite toys. I can't get food, go to the loo and there's no hope of getting any laundry or cleaning done.

I've had to plonk her in front of some Youtube just so I can get a drink. I feel awful doing that, as I want her to be able to find amusement in things other than a screen but I need a 5 minute break. Any ideas to encourage a little independent play would be very much welcomed!!!!

I had a baby carrier and would put my DD on my back when she was like that.

There were some tasks I couldn't do but I could do things like laundry and washing up.

The only thing I had to be careful of was that she worked out how to grab things by leaning over. So if I felt her leaning I would move so she couldn't.

She would often get bored and fall asleep.

Hello,
I Had a similar problem with my 9months old nephew. All He would want was to watch "hiya hiya ol" 😂😀 But then i got him this particular children book from Fiverr and read it to him and that seems to calm him down. And I could leave him looking at and enjoying the pictures.

The things that kept my DS amused for the longest at that age were wrist and ankle rattles, mirrors and our Moredig room projector

When they have days like that it means they are tired or coming down with something. Try and put her down for a nap.
