Baby with froggy legs

DS (5 months tommorrow) has just learnt to roll from back to tummy (yay!) He has always struggled with tummy time and still isn't putting his arms straight to push his upper body up when on his tummy, if that makes sense.

My question is, is it usual for babies this age to have their legs in a froggy position on their tummy? He pushes them right up repeatedly, eager to move I think.

I've been wondering since he was tiny about his muscle tone.

Yes I think so.

Was he breech? My breech baby was like that for ages

Not breech no

Yes normal IMO. You can put his legs underneath him to help him get ready for crawling.

He's still very wobbly on his top half, so although I think he thinks he wants to be on the move he hasn't got the upper body strength yet bless him.

Completely normal, also don't worry about his arms. One day they can't do something and the next they can it's all about consistency with floor play and they will get it at their own pace.
