LO is 4 and has been running a high temp since Sat. We were seen by the nurse on Mon who said that her glands are swollen on her neck and her throat is red. From experience, how long should this last? We're giving calpol or ibuprofen to keep her temp down but without it it shoots back up.

We're missing some important settling in at school days so just wanted an idea of how long it'll last.

Literally no one on the internet will be able to tell you that. But if your child has had a high temperature for 5 days, I'd be going back to the GP as you may need something to treat the infection more aggressively.

If she’s no better, or getting worse, it’s time to be looked at again.
Is she eating/drinking/playing ?
