Baby sleep temperatures

i’m recently diagnosed with PND/PNA.

my baby is 7.5 weeks old. I am terrified beyond belief of her overheating at night & dying from sids. In this heatwave I can’t physically get the room down below 24. I have the relevant sleep bags etc but cannot shift this fear and even putting her to sleep in a nappy doesn’t help my worries.
i am basically too scared to sleep until this weather is over & I know it’s hotter again next weekend. The thought makes me want to cry. Will she be ok in 24 degrees?

It's normal to worry. Think of all the places on the world that have temperatures over 24,they're not all dying. Over heating is more about too many blankets, central heating on full whack, babies in hays at night etc. Think how hot it is in hospitals. Your baby will be fine😊

Yes she will be fine in 24 degrees, that’s not even that hot really. Think about all the millions billions of people who live in tropical countries a lot hotter than 24 degrees!

Thankyou. I just think that those babies are more adapted to high temps because they’re used to it, unlike us in the UK

No tiny baby is used to anything 😉

Well of course they're not, they've just been born!

I would also pop her down in a vest. It's really not hot enough to need nappy only and will continue to cool down through the night.

Try and get some rest. She'll be just fine, it's a warm night, nothing more.
