…different parenting techniques?

Just looking to see if anyone has any advice/experience with having a partner with a different parenting technique?

My DP is very shouty and I think has highly expectations for our just turned two year old (expects him to always follow instructions, apply logic and not be clumsy).

His reaction stresses me a lot and I don’t like leaving them together for too long (can’t be helped when I’m at work but that’s another story I guess)

I have a lot more patience but obviously do get tested, I just seem to be able to tolerate and divert the “cheeky” toddler behaviour rather than getting angry.

I’ve tried talking to him but he just said he can’t help it and struggles with parenting.

We will not be having another so I really want to get this right 😔

If he admits he finds it hard, would he agree to parenting classes?? Or at the very least, reading a couple of books / podcasts??

Does he accept that his responses are inappropriate? Does he want to do better?

Yes, he gets very upset about his approach
